The long distance medal decision took place on Thursday at Imatra. Russian wins gold and bronze in men`s and women`s category, Sweden got silver.
In the men’s race it was again Andrey Lamov who gave his competitors no chance for the victory. Russian athlete won 1 second ahead of the Swedish Markus Lundholm and in this case take the third gold medal at the European Ski Orienteering Championship in Imatra. Third place went to another russian sportsmen Kirill Veselov. In top-6 were also Eduard Khrennikov (RUS), Ulrik Nordberg (SWE) and Erik Rost (SWE).I liikoja
In the women’s category Russian Alena Trapeznikova won in front of the Swede Tove Alexandersson. Mariya Kechkina (RUS) on the last part of race lost her role as a favorite and reached only third position. In top-6 were also Magdalena Olsson (SWE), Polina Frolova (RUS) and Tatyana Oborina (RUS).
For today Russians and Swedes are the strongest athletes who give no chances for other competitors. The next race will be Middle and will take place on Saturday 11th of February.
